Position Overview
The Business Manager plays a key role in business development, workforce growth, training, and community engagement within the assigned district. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a strong focus on building partnerships, supporting care providers, and expanding services to those in need.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Community Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with San Andreas Regional Center (SARC) – Salinas office
Represent PHS at vendor meetings, OAC meetings, and community networking events
Develop and implement community partnerships that drive client referrals and care provider recruitment
Conduct in-home assessments for prospective clients and Managed Care Plan members
Assist in securing and managing contracts with business partners and Managed Care Plans
Deliver compelling presentations to promote services and expand community reach
Onboarding, Training & Development
Lead in-person onboarding sessions for new Care Providers
Create a welcoming and engaging onboarding experience that reflects PHS culture and values
Conduct CPR/First Aid certification trainings and in-service education sessions
Prepare and manage training materials and equipment
Travel to support training needs across offices as required
Staffing & Recruitment
Identify and address staffing needs within the district
Recruit, screen, and interview Care Provider candidates
Extend job offers and support new hire onboarding compliance (I-9s, Live Scan, etc.)
Participate in job fairs, recruiting events, and community outreach efforts
Ensure hiring processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with company standards
General Responsibilities
Attend quarterly staff meetings and monthly department meetings
Foster a positive, ethical, and team-oriented work environment
Support additional operational needs as assigned
Qualifications
We are seeking a motivated leader who brings energy, initiative, and heart to their work. Someone who is not only driven to succeed—but also committed to serving their community with purpose.
Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a human services delivery system
At least 5 years of progressive management or supervisory experience
Proven ability in recruiting, training, supervising, and workforce planning
Strong leadership presence with excellent communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and technology-driven operations
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required
Additional Requirements
Ability and willingness to travel locally for field visits, trainings, and community events
Driving is an essential function of this role
