DEFINITION
Under general supervision, monitors students using school facilities during breakfast; insure the physical and moral welfare of students; enforce general clean-up by students of their eating area; and does related work as required by supervisor.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Monitor and assists children during breakfast in the multipurpose room.
- Prevent dangerous situations or accidents; stops fights; report special behavior problems to site Principal.
- Encourage and promote courtesy among children.
- Maintain order and proper discipline.
- Provide or seek first aid help if needed.
- Ensure students clean their eating area before leaving multipurpose room.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of:
- First aid.
- Ability to:
- Work effectively and harmoniously with others.
- Maintain acceptable standards of behavior among the children.
- Enlist the cooperation of students in the enforcement of rules and regulations.
- Understand and follow written and oral directions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Stand for long periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Ability to see for purposes of reading correspondence, documents and other printed matter.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels in person and/or on the telephone.
- Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation in person and/or on the telephone.
- Mental acuity to make valid judgments and decisions.
- Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment.
EXPERIENCE:
None required, but experience in youth work is desirable.
EDUCATION:
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Must Be Hands Hands-On Training (No Online Certifications accepted). )
- Proof of HS Graduation (High School Diploma or GED)
