If you need a job—you’ve found the right place to start to find one. The Monterey County Workforce Development Board’s exists to help county residents find good paying jobs.

Whether you are currently unemployed, have a job but are looking for a better one or retired and looking to get back into the workforce, we are here to help you.

You will be one step closer to finding that next job by looking at the high growth industry sectors we’ve identified. We’ve done the research, so you won’t have to and these are the industries where jobs are most plentiful and where we expect job growth to continue.

Interested in a particular job within an industry sector but have no experience? Or do you have some experience with an occupation that appeals to you but want to get MORE experience. We can help. We have identified job trainings within each of the sectors that you can attend to become more qualified for a job. We also have paid work experiences where you are placed within a company and gain on-the-job experience.

We have staff that will help guide you through your job search journey, but YOU need to take the first step. Review the various industry sectors we’ve identified and click on the sector(s) that most appeal to you to learn about the jobs within each of these sectors. Then sign up for a job training.

Please note our minimum requirements for job seekers:

  • Authorization to Work. An individual must have the authorization to work in the United State to be eligible to receive Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) employment services, and
  • Selective Service Registration. Men born on or after January 1, 1960, residing in the United States (citizen or non-citizen) must register with Selective Service between their 18th and 26th birthday to be eligible for WIOA services.
