culinary assistant
Dutch Door Donuts is hiring a culinary visionary/Chef to join the back team. motivated and experienced Kitchen Leader to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for crafting our signature dough and creating seasonal fresh made glazes as well as our signature glazes. You will help come up with new flavors and a bi weekly/ monthly/ year round menu. You will be contributing to an artesian donut experience that brings joy to our customers. The Kitchen Leader will play a crucial role in overseeing kitchen operations, manage inventory of key ingredients, maintain a clean and organized back of house work space ensuring food quality, and maintaining a positive work environment. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
Duties
Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily operations to ensure efficient workflow.
Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation in accordance with company guidelines.
Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed, demonstrating culinary skills.
Manage inventory levels, placing orders for supplies, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
help Train new employees on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Handle cash register operations and assist with sales transactions when necessary.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
Previous experience in food service or culinary roles is preferred.
Familiarity with cash register operations and basic math skills for handling transactions.
Experience in a café or grocery store setting is a plus.
Strong leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff and customers.
A passion for the culinary arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 – $26.00 per hour
