Framework First builds homes inside our own factory, then crane-delivers them onto our clients’ properties. Permits, foundation, finishes, inspections, all done for them. We’ve been building quality homes and ADUs for years, with 40+ years of craftsmanship behind us and a 5.0-star reputation, and we’re growing fast.
We need an Operations Project Manager to make sure every project moves through our factory and our field operations as efficiently as humanly possible. This is not a desk job, and it’s not a clipboard job. It’s a role for someone who lives inside the details of how things actually get built, and who isn’t afraid to hold a crew accountable when a project falls behind.
Some weeks you’re 60% on the factory floor; other weeks you’re 60% in the field at inspections and planning meetings. You’ll have a company vehicle for it, and a direct line of sight to senior operations leadership as we scale to multiple shifts.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
Own every active project’s timeline in our internal dashboard, from factory build to on-site delivery.
Know the status of every unit, every day, before anyone asks.
Walk the factory floor and ask the hard questions:When did this build start?
Who’s on it?
What’s the build time?
Are we on track?
Then document the answers.
Drive crew accountability.
Track build times by role (craftsmen, finishing specialists, utility techs), document slips, address them directly, and follow up.
Go on-site for inspections, planning-department coordination, and feasibility work.
Coordinate the planning department daily so permits, approvals, and prep happen on schedule, not late.
Be rachable for time-sensitive inspector and planning calls outside standard hours when speed matters.

Requirements:
Experience managing projects in manufacturing, construction, modular/prefab, or a similar build environment. You understand how things get made.
Organized to a fault and comfortable living in project-management software.
Comfortable holding people accountable, directly, fairly, and without drama.
A natural documenter: who did what, when, and how long it took.
Drives urgency without burning people out.
Clean driving record (company vehicle provided for site visits).
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus, not a requirement.
Job Specifics:
Location: 1610 Moffett Street, Salinas, CA
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (salaried, exempt; occasional after-hours inspector/planning calls)
Pay: $100,000 to $110,000/year base plus up to ~$50,000 performance bonus, paid quarterly. Total potential $150,000 to $160,000/year.
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (Austin Canales)
Vehicle: Company vehicle provided for on-site visits.
In-Person: At the Framework First Factory & On-Site
