Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated STEM Education Instructor to lead hands-on, engaging classes for students in grades 1-8. This role involves teaching fundamental robotics and engineering concepts using LEGO® and kinetic sets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for STEM education, excellent leadership skills, and a natural ability to inspire and engage young learners.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Lead and instruct STEM-based educational classes using LEGO® Education and kinetic sets.
- Guide students through hands-on projects, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.
- Teach basic robotics and engineering principles, introducing students to relevant terminology.
- Maintain a positive and focused learning environment, effectively managing classroom dynamics.
- Provide clear instruction and direction to students, ensuring they remain engaged and on task.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and skill levels.
- Maintain equipment and materials, ensuring LEGO® and kinetic sets are organized and in good condition.
- Communicate with parents about student progress and classroom activities (as needed).
- Follow the lesson plan and sequence of activities.
- Monitor how partners work together and make adjustments as needed.
- Take pictures and videos of students with their projects.
- Revisit the daily objective and STEM words.
- Review the answers to the take-home worksheet with the class.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A genuine passion for STEM education and working with children.
- Experience working with LEGO® and/or kinetic sets is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and classroom management skills.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other instructors and staff.
- Some college coursework preferred, but not required.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and able to maintain a consistent schedule.
