Security Dispatcher/Supervisor

Condor Security of America Inc. – Salinas, CA

  • $22 – $24 an hour
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday and one weekend per month
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Overtime and occasional weekend hours – as needed

 

Scope of Position

The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for training and supervising dispatchers in all aspects of their jobs, including scheduling, training, and performance management. This position is under the direction of the South Bay Regional Manager and requires one to possess a significant degree of initiative and exercise independent judgment and discretion to maintain order in the assigned area. Ensuring the functions of the dispatch team are performed appropriately to guarantee that all daily operations run smoothly. All duties must be performed in accordance with client and company policies and standard operating procedures, following all state and federal regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the South Bay Regional Supervisor; performs a wide variety of supervisory and scheduling duties in relation to dispatch.

The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive:

  • Maintain constant communication with the Regional Supervisor of any updates and important matters that occur at sites which could have a negative impact on the company
  • Oversees and trains dispatchers on all assigned duties and tasks of their position
  • Communicates appropriate responses to the proper individuals, including but not limited to Condor management, officers or employees, clients, customers, local authorities, emergency response personnel, service technicians, etc.
  • Handles high levels of stress and supervisory issues related to dispatch in a calm and professional manner
  • Identifies any scheduling issues occurring at posts, and relays those concerns or issues to the scheduler and/or Condor management
  • Schedules and maintains the dispatcher schedule in Ehub
  • Utilizes company software to send important group messages to employees
  • Ensures dispatchers maintain a professional image
  • Ensures the SOC is always neat and orderly
  • Concrete knowledge of Silvertrac, Ehub and GPS software programs
  • Monitors work performance of dispatchers and performs evaluations and provides discipline when appropriate
  • Works additional hours when necessary, including covering open dispatch shifts during the week and on weekends
  • Assigns duties/tasks and ensures their proper, timely execution
  • Prepare written reports regarding incidents
  • Attend and complete all required/assigned trainings
  • Adhere to laws rules and regulations
  • Other duties, as assigned

 

Required Skills

  • 5 years of dispatch and/or security experience is required (related experience will be considered)
  • 2 years of supervisory experience is required
  • General understanding of CSA policies and BSIS requirements
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software is required
  • As a condition of employment, employee must complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Ability to work long hours and handle all assigned duties with limited supervision by management
  • Ability to write effective and concise reports in neat, legible handwriting is required
  • Ability to train dispatchers on Officer Metrics, EHUB and GPS software
  • Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
  • Professional, articulate, and able to use good judgment and discretion
  • Ability to successfully interact all levels of the organization is required, including with clients and customers
  • Ability to communicate clearly and calmly is required, even in stressful situations
  • Demonstrated ability to be very customer service oriented
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required
  • Requires the ability to quickly process and send information to the right people
  • Requires quick decision-making abilities and knowledge of law enforcement 10-codes

 

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Possession of P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatch certification
  • Some college education or business classes is required
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree is preferred

 

Physical/Mental requirements and working environment:

  • The job is generally performed in an office environment
  • May be required to climb stairs, ladders, or ramps
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, talk and hear (communicate verbally in person and via regular telephone equipment), and must be able to read
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Must be able to focus and multi-task in a busy environment, with the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Must be able to clearly speak, read and write English

 

Bonus is paid as follows: $600.00 at 90 days of continuous employment.*
