Job description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Foreman to join our team and provide reliable on-site leadership for our high-end residential new-build projects. This position is ideal for a seasoned carpenter who is ready to step into a leadership role, ensuring the project runs smoothly day-to-day—particularly when the Project Manager is off-site.
The Foreman will serve as the on-site point person, maintaining workflow, quality, safety, and communication between trades while supporting the Project Manager’s directives. This is a key role on our larger projects, and we are hiring one dedicated foreman to oversee daily field operations.
Responsibilities
Daily On-Site Oversight
• Acts as the primary on-site lead in the absence of the Project Manager.
• Opens and closes the jobsite each day and ensures work areas are organized, safe, and secured.
• Manages the daily workflow of subcontractors, laborers, and carpentry crew to keep work on schedule.
• Coordinates with the Project Manager regarding daily priorities, schedule shifts, and material needs.
Quality & Productivity
• Ensures work is being performed according to plans, specifications, and high-level craftsmanship standards.
• Verifies measurements, layout, and framing during all phases of carpentry work.
• Troubleshoots issues on-site and resolves minor problems immediately; communicates major concerns to PM.
Skilled Carpentry Work
• Performs hands-on carpentry as needed, including framing, trim work, installation, and site-built components.
• Reads and interprets construction drawings and can guide others based on plans and details.
• Assists in mock-ups, layout, and specialty installations that require precision carpentry skills.
Jobsite Coordination
• Helps manage deliveries, staging of materials, and subcontractor access.
• Conducts walk-throughs to ensure jobsite cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety policies.
• Maintains daily logs, photographs, and updates for project documentation.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with trades, clients, and the internal team.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforces safety protocols and ensures all workers are following OSHA guidelines.
• Identifies hazards and mitigates risks immediately.
• Ensures equipment, tools, and machinery are used properly and maintained on-site.
Qualifications
• 5+ years carpentry experience; high-end residential new-build experience preferred.
• Prior experience as a Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or Site Supervisor strongly desired.
• Ability to read blueprints, architectural details, and structural drawings independently.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct crews respectfully and effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication habits.
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to multiple active job sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Work Location: In person
