Job Summary
Kawahara Nursery Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL-A Driver to transport live plants and nursery products to customers throughout California. This role is essential to ensuring timely, careful deliveries while maintaining the quality and integrity of plant materials. The ideal candidate values safety, reliability, and professional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate CDL-A vehicles to deliver live plants and nursery products to wholesale customers
Load, secure, and unload plant materials with care to prevent damage
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly
Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and required DOT documentation
Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and California driving regulations
Ensure proper handling of temperature-sensitive or delicate plant shipments
Communicate professionally with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers
Maintain a clean and organized truck and work area
Assist with yard or warehouse tasks as needed during non-driving hours
Qualifications
Valid California CDL Class A license
Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate
Clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards
Knowledge of DOT safety regulations and compliance requirements
Experience hauling agricultural, nursery, or produce products preferred
Ability to safely lift, carry, and move nursery materials
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Driving local and regional routes
Frequent entering/exiting vehicle
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Early morning start times may be required
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time position
Schedule based on delivery routes and seasonal demand
Compensation commensurate with experience
