Project Coordinator

Located in Salinas, California, Slam A Door Company supplies doors (pre-hung and replacement), hardware, finish carpentry materials, and widows for small, large, standard and highly custom projects. Our customers range from individuals browsing our brochures / product displays to construction companies, for whom we work from architectural plans. Slam A Door takes pride in providing high quality products at competitive prices, striving to give our customers the assurance that we are not only ‘easy to do business with’, but also ‘team’ with them throughout their construction projects.
We are looking for a full-time Project Coordinator to carry out and manage all types of projects, from simple to more complex plans, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide contractors with product submissions for the purpose of clarifying project work and product commitments
- Review project bids and convert to internal production work orders in order to provide production team with work specifics
- Develop and monitor project schedule including ordering, receiving, production, billing, and shipping to ensure project timelines are met
- Act as liaison between customers and management staff to ensure customer concerns, changes, and schedules are effectively communicated to all project stakeholders
- Actively solicit feedback from customers and communicate both improvement opportunities as well as project successes to internal staff for the purpose of continuous improvement
- Provide timely response via phone, email, and other correspondence to ensure customers are getting their needs met
- Execute project closeout procedures to ensure all deliverables are complete and historical records are organized if future review is needed
- Work closely with customers to provide technical assistance and guidance where product expertise is needed
- Adhere to company policies, standards, and procedures to help ensure consistency and efficiency throughout the projects
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to type 30+ wpm
- Read and apply all fractions of a tape measure
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work both collaboratively as a team player and independently as required - Ability to set priorities, organize work and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines
- Capacity to solve problems and make decisions in a clear and decisive manner
- Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner, excellent follow through and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively convey information, concepts, and ideas to both internal staff and customers
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Sitting, typing, and standing for prolonged periods of time will occur. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Additional Requirements/Skills
- High School Diploma.
- Comply, understand, and support company safety standards to ensure a safe work environment
- Punctual and dependable with reliable source of transportation
- Available from 7am – 3:30pm, M-F
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
