Unemployment Rate for April 2026

The unemployment rate in Monterey County was 7.2 percent in April 2026, down from a revised 10.0 percent in March 2026, and below the year-ago estimate of 8.2 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.0 percent for California and 4.0 percent for the nation during the same period.
