Scheid Vineyards has an exciting opportunity for a Tasting Room Associate to join our dynamic team in our Greenfield Tasting Room.
SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Hospitality Manager, the Tasting Room Associate is responsible for assisting Tasting Room guests and providing exceptional customer service and sales support. This position will support the day to day operations of the Tasting Room to include hospitality, wine club membership promotion/sales, wine education and sales in POS system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and serve guests to include wine tasting and wine education in a manner consistent with the Scheid Vineyards brand.
- Promote and sell Scheid Vineyards Wine Club memberships.
- Accurately process sales transactions using Vin65, credit card machine.
- Facilitate refund transactions.
- Answer phone, data entry, inventory management.
- Participate in special Wine Club events.
- Follow opening and closing procedures to maximize efficiency.
- General housekeeping including, but not limited to, sweeping, dish
- washing, window cleaning.
- Availability to work weekends.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years’ experience in customer service.
- 1+ years’ experience in wine industry hospitality a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
- LANGUAGE – Ability to respond to basic inquiries from clients and business affiliates. Ability to read and write required correspondence that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to co-workers, affiliates, clients and the public
- TECHINICAL — Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, ability to use Vin65 and inventory management system in prescribed style and format
- GENERAL — Comprehension of basic mathematics to complete customer transactions.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and/or keyboard. Required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This job requires use of the computer and phone.
