POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Outreach, Recruitment, and Internship Program Specialist will provide strong organizational and administrative support to the Department of Social Work.

 

Examples of Duties

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Assist with recruiting, screening, developing, evaluating, and retaining field practicum sites and field instructors at the generalist and advanced generalist sites.

 

• Maintain the field practicum directory and field database which includes current agency information and agency documentation compliance (Cal State S4).

 

• Assist with developing, scheduling, planning, and supporting field practicum education projects and activities.

 

• Assist coordinating and facilitating outreach activities reaching a diverse and underrepresented rural community.

 

• Assist developing and facilitating informational sessions in local communities, professional conferences, and public or nonprofit agencies.

 

• Participate in staff career fairs providing career education information to attendees and county employees.

 

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience:

 

• Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program.

 

OR

 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

• Prior experience in social work.

 

• Social work experience working with diverse populations.

 

• Experience working with interprofessional settings.

 

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail (including Calendar and Docs), Internet browsers.

 

• Highly motivated and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

• Demonstrated ability to address the essential functions associated with this position including the knowledge and abilities identified above.

 

• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the CSUMB Vision Statement and the core values of mutual respect, collaboration and service orientation, multiculturalism and diversity, community service and institutional excellence.

Special License or Certifications and Conditions:

• May require occasional evenings and/or weekend work.
