Hospitality Cadre
Start Your Journey in Hospitality!
Start your journey into the world of hospitality with the Monterey County Works Hospitality Cadre Program. This hands-on training program is designed to help you explore careers in hotels, restaurants, and event planning while building real-world job skills. Participants gain valuable work experience, develop customer service and workplace skills, and learn directly from industry professionals. If you’re looking for a way to build your résumé, gain experience, and take the first step toward a career in hospitality, this program is for you.
What awaits you:
- Earn up to $35 per day during training while exploring careers in the hospitality industry.
- Qualify for a paid internship with a local hospitality business, earning $18 per hour after successfully completing the 3-week training program.
- Earn the Certified Guest Service Professional credential from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
You will receive the following certifications:
- The Certified Guest Service Professional by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
- OSHA 10: General Industry Certification
- SERV Safe Food Handlers Certification
To participate:
- Be between 18 to 24 years of age and not attending school.
- Be available to attend training from May 11 to May 29, 2026.
- Be available to work from June 1 to July 17, 2026, up to 36 hours per week.
- Must provide documentation establishing legal authorization to work in the United States.
