Carmel Youth Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Program Teacher to join our team! If you have experience working with children, strong classroom management skills, and a desire to make a positive impact, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s social-emotional development.
Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
Build positive relationships with children, families, and the community.
Implement curriculum that aligns with learning frameworks and child development principles.
Supervise indoor/outdoor activities, including field trips.
Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 18 years of age.
12+ units in Child Development, ECE, or a related field (AA/BA preferred).
2+ years of experience in a child care or teaching environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
Ability to meet California state requirements, including Live Scan, TB test, and Mandated Reporter training.
Bilingual/multilingual skills a plus!
