JOB SUMMARY
Truck Drivers are responsible for transporting produce from the first point of process to a predesignated cooling facility, transporting packing materials between the company’s carton yard and harvest locations, and transferring harvest machinery between fields. Drivers must be able to pull trailers ranging from 20 feet to 53 feet, including doubles, while obeying all DOT regulations and company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
1. Must possess and maintain a Class A driver’s license.
2. Inspect and document assigned vehicle for safe operation.
3. Comply with DOT rules and regulations applicable to the vehicle being operated.
4. Maintain accurate driving records/logs as required by DOT regulations to assure legal operation within the allowed hours of operation.
5. Transport produce from first point of production to the predesignated cooling facility.
6. Transport packing materials from carton yard to designated harvest location.
7. Transport harvest equipment and machinery between harvesting locations, repair facilities or other locations as required.
8. Must secure all produce, material, equipment, and machinery before being transported.
9. Completes repair orders for malfunctioning equipment.
10. Keep constant communication with the designated dispatcher, harvest supervisor, yard personnel, and logistics manager.
11. Driver is required to maintain an unrestricted DOT medical certificate.
12. Driver must maintain a safe driving record and must report all driving infractions to the Human Resources Department in writing.
13. Driver will participate in safety trainings and is required to abide by all company safety polices.
14. Other duties may be assigned as required in order to maintain productivity, safety and good agricultural practices.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Must have the ability to safely operate the assigned vehicle.
· Must have the ability to secure all loads prior to being transported.
· Must be able to climb on to harvest trailers, low boy trailers, tractors and other equipment.
· Must be familiar and able to operate a tractor and harvest machine.
· Must be able to work independently without direct supervison.
· Must be able to identify hazards or dangerous situations and should report these to his/her supervisor and the HR/Safety department.
· Must be willing to work in a team oriented environment.
· Must be able to read and write in English and Spanish.
· Must be able to accurately complete and driver logbook as required by DOT regulations.
· Must be able to follow instructions and respond to management’s direction.
Required Abilities:
· The employee must be able to climb on to the harvest machines, tractors or other equipment and at least eight steps.
· Must be able to work outdoors for shifts ranging up to 12 hours.
· Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs throughout the work shift.
· Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
· Must be able to work while walking on uneven ground or during wet, slippery or under muddy conditions.
· Must be able to safely utilize the required personal protective equipment.
· Must be able to perform duties that require fine dexterity.
· Must be able to follow instructions and abide to all company policies and procedures including but not limited to general safety policies, food safety policies, good agricultural practices, labor relations polices which include sexual harassment, discrimination, and bullying.
Other Qualifications:
· 3-5 years of experience in field produce and equipment transportation desired.
· In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
· Employee must possess a valid Commercial Class A driver’s license. A safe driving record is required and the individual is required to maintain insurability.
Other Skills and Abilities:
· Must be able to speak, read and write in English and Spanish.
· Must be familiar with basic technology such as smart phones, tablets, portable computers or other handheld devices.
