Host/Server

We, Kuma Sushi, are currently seeking friendly and enthusiastic Hosts/Hostesses to join our team and provide a warm and inviting welcome to our guests.

Job Description:

As a Host/Hostess you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for creating a positive first impression. Your friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and organizational skills will contribute to the overall guest experience and success of our restaurant.

Responsibilities:

• Guest Greeting: Greet guests as they arrive, providing a warm and friendly welcome. Offer assistance with seating and coats, as needed.
• Reservation Management: Manage and maintain reservation bookings, ensuring accuracy and timely seating of guests. Handle reservation inquiries and coordinate with the restaurant’s reservation system.
• Seating: Escort guests to their assigned tables, taking into consideration table preferences and special requests. Keep track of table availability and optimize seating arrangements.
• Waiting Area: Maintain the waiting area, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness. Provide menus to waiting guests and offer beverages if applicable.
• Guest Information: Inform guests about daily specials, promotions, and any relevant restaurant information. Answer questions and address any initial concerns or requests.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with restaurant staff to coordinate seating and ensure a smooth flow of service. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to manage guest expectations.
• Guest Farewell: Bid farewell to guests as they leave, expressing gratitude for their visit and inviting them to return.
• Reservation Follow-Up: Confirm reservations and provide guests with any necessary information, such as parking details or dress code requirements.
• Waitlist Management: Manage any waitlist during peak dining times, keeping guests informed about estimated wait times and offering alternatives if available.

Qualifications:

• Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to providing a positive guest experience.
• Organizational skills for managing reservations and seating efficiently.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Flexibility in working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in a host/hostess or customer service role is a plus but not mandatory.
