Warehouse Supervisor
Reports To: Warehouse Manager Department: Warehouse
Location: Salinas, California Position Type: Full Time
Classification: Exempt, Salaried Salary Range: $92,000 – $98,500 annually
Position Summary
We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team! The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating warehouse, material handling, and inventory activities in a safe and productive work environment. This role ensures daily compliance with training and safety standards while maintaining the warehouse in a state of readiness for SQF (Safe Quality Food) audits. Additionally, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for achieving daily operational goals and driving continuous improvement in efficiency and output. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.
Required Qualifications
Minimum two years of warehouse supervisory experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Minimum two years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in food manufacturing procedures preferred.
B.S. or B.A. degree in business management or relevant field preferred.
Certification in P.I.T. equipment, such as forklift or other lifting devices is preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Desired Qualifications
Strong Supervisory, administrative, and employee relations skills.
Computer literate with minimum basic Excel, Word and Outlook or other email software is preferred.
Highly organized and great attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
Responsible for warehouse inventory accuracy ensuring that all procedures are followed. The expectation is 99% or greater in inventory accuracy.
Responsible for day-to-day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include appointments, shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
Generates and/or monitors warehouse productivity reports, regarding production downtime related to warehouse issues and accounts for all labor hours.
Adheres to budget requirements for warehouse labor including headcount and authorized overtime.
Motivates/monitors employees to assure no production down time is caused by warehouse.
Assures all employees are trained on procedures and monitors that standard operating procedures are being followed including work performance(output), receiving, put away, staging and return to stock for production and shipping/receiving.
Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs.
Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform the distribution functions.
Makes recommendations to management on programs to improve operational efficiency and increase inventory accuracy.
Responsible for warehouse safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
Responsible of warehouse safety procedures and inventory management.
Communicate with all employees, vendors and drivers effectively.
Open to a flexible work schedule to meet business needs.
May perform other assignments from time to time as directed by management.
Physical Requirements/ Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.
The team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary.
Must be able to utilize P.I.T. equipment, such as forklift or other lifting devices, to be able to work at heights.
