About the position

The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Supervisor at River of Life Transportation is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient transportation of patients and clients to various medical facilities, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private residences. This position requires a strong leader who can provide supervision and support to drivers and dispatch personnel, ensuring that all operations comply with company policies and safety regulations. The supervisor will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with clients, management, and subordinates, fostering a positive work environment. The role also involves being available for on-call service in a 24/7 operational setting, which is crucial for addressing any immediate transportation needs that may arise. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the supervisor will be tasked with evaluating, training, and motivating staff, ensuring that all team members are equipped to perform their duties effectively. This includes conducting daily vehicle inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and ensuring that all transportation activities are carried out in a safe and professional manner. The supervisor will also be responsible for effective communication with drivers and dispatch, providing updates and reports to upper management as necessary. Proficiency in using GPS devices, two-way radios, and Windows-based software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential for this role, along with a basic understanding of accounting systems and computer networks. Overall, the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that patients receive timely and safe transportation to their medical appointments, while also managing a team of drivers and dispatch personnel to uphold the highest standards of service.

Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and supervision for the non-emergency transportation of patients/clients.

• Evaluate, train, and motivate drivers and dispatch personnel.

• Instruct and step-in to fulfill driver and dispatch duties as necessary.

• Maintain effective communication with drivers and dispatch, providing updates and reports for upper management.

• Supervise and enforce completion of daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and safety during operations.

• Understand and operate GPS devices, 2-way radios, and Windows-based software.

• Perform all duties as assigned by the River of Life Transportation President.

Requirements
• Must comprehend and comply with the River of Life Transportation Employee Handbook, Driver Manual, Dispatch Manual, and Employee Training outline.

• Experience in management in the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation field is desired.

• Must possess a valid California Driver’s license and provide a current 2-year DMV printout.

• No more than 3 moving violations or 1 ‘at fault’ accident within the past 2 years.

• Pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

• Must pass a mandatory criminal background test.

• CPR and First Aid certification.

Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Preferred).

• 1 year of management experience (Preferred).
